On January 7 2026 The Kaunas branch of the Society for the Study of World Lithuanians, the Faculty of Humanities of Vytautas Magnus University (VMU), and the VMU Lithuanian Emigration Institute invited the public to a discussion titled “Drama in Venezuela: What’s Next?”.

Participants in the conversation were Dr. Erick Reis Godliauskas Zen, Ana Baronas de Zavadzkas, and Regina Šulcas. The discussion was moderated by Dr. Giedrius Janauskas, Director of the Lithuanian Emigration Institute. The event took place at the The Valdas Adamkus Presidential Library-Museum.

Brazilian Lithuanian Dr. Erick Reis Godliauskas Zen presented a Brazilian and international perspective on current developments. Venezuelan Lithuanians Ana Baronas de Zavadzkas and Regina Šulcas spoke about the realities of everyday life for the people of Venezuela, the current political situation, and the fate of the Lithuanian community in a country shaken by crisis.
