On 28 November 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania, Kęstutis Budrys, visited the VMU Lithuanian Emigration Institute and The Valdas Adamkus Presidential Library-Museum. The building that now houses both institutions served as the premises of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania during the interwar period.

During the visit, the Minister learned about the activities of the Emigration Institute and the Adamkus Library, and was introduced to details of the historical building’s past and the daily life of the ministry at that time. Historian Dr. Asta Petraitytė-Briedienė presented the guests with an overview of the history of Lithuanian diplomacy in exile.
