On March 7th, an evening dedicated to the memory of Lithuania’s honorary Consul Vytautas Čekanauskas took place at The Valdas Adamkus Presidential Library-Museum. On that day, Vytautas Čekanauskas would have turned 95. During the event, a presentation of Vytautas Čekanauskas’ biography prepared by historian Professor Juozas Skirius was held, and memories of their father were shared by the Consul General’s daughters Daiva Navarette, Rita Žukas, and Vida Bruožis. Vytautas Čekanauskas Memorial Scholarships were awarded to students of the Faculty of Political Science and Diplomacy at Vytautas Magnus University. The event was attended by the university’s rector, Juozas Augutis, who, in gratitude for their assistance to the university, presented memorial gifts to Daiva Navarette, Rita Žukas, and Vida Bruožis.
